US-led bombing campaign is insufficient to defeat ISIS, says Chaldean Catholic Church
(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Patriarch Louis Sako, the head of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq said, that the US-led bombing campaign is insufficient to defeat the Islamic State militants.
The Patriarch said, “ISIS is a danger to the whole world, not just for the Middle East…The future depends on American actions,” but he also added, “They have to send soldiers, troops, to expel these fundamentalist people,” stressing that bombing is a partial solution, “especially when there are no troops on the ground providing assistance.”
Sako said, “We need a new education, to pull out the jihadist mentality from the roots. Only if Muslim families offer a new education to the future generations can there be a future for Christians here.”
