U.S. provided Iraq with $500 million for ammunition and equipment in 2014, says John Allen

(IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, U.S. President’s envoy to Iraq, John Allen stated that in 2014 his country provided Iraq with 500 million dollars to buy ammunition and equipment, adding that the elimination of ISIS is not only Iraq’s responsibility, but the whole world’s.

Allen said in an interview attended by IraqiNews.com, “The United States provided Iraq with $500 million last year to buy ammunition and equipment,” explaining that, “12 countries participated in the training of Iraqi forces in different areas in Iraq.”

Allen added, “8 international partners are launching air strikes against ISIS in Iraq,” noting that, “U.S. has also provided 250 mine-resistant vehicles as military aid for Iraq.”

He stressed that, “The elimination of ISIS is not only Iraq’s responsibility alone, but the whole world’s.”

The U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed on December 5, 2014 that his country would support Iraq in its fight against the terrorists of ISIS.
