Abadi condemns abduction of MP al-Janabi

(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday evening, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi condemned the abduction of MP Zaid al-Janabi and the killing of his companions south of Baghdad, describing the operation as “criminal,” while emphasized that he would strike with an iron fist whoever feels tempted to harm the Iraqi people.

Information Office of Abadi said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “PM and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Haider Abadi condemns the criminal operation of kidnapping MP Zaid al-Janabi and the assassination of his companions,” adding that, “Whoever committed this crime wants to keep the security forces occupied from confronting the real enemy of the Iraqi people, represented by the terrorist organization ISIS, and make a crack in the political process.”
