Blast hits Nusra Front in Syria, kills commander
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An explosion in the northwestern part of Syria targeted senior members Thursday of al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front. The blast killed a military commander, insurgent sources told Reuters.
Gen. Cmdr. Abu Humam al-Shami died after an attack that’s believed to be from US-led coalition airstrikes. He was the one of the leading figures of the militant group since it formed in 2012.
The explosion hit a meeting among Nusra Front leaders in Salqin, a town in the northwest province of Idlib. /End/
