Hakim, Masoum discuss updates of Iraqi scene

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council Ammar al-Hakim discussed with the Iraqi President Fuad Masoum updates of the Iraqi scene and victories of the ISF against the terrorist ISIL.

Statement by Hakim’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hakim met Masoum on Sunday in Baghdad where both sides discussed the latest security and political developments as well as the victories achieved by the ISF, Peshmerga, tribesmen and volunteers against the terrorist ISIL gangs.”

The statement quoted Hakim as saying “The victory over the ISIL became close and we should discuss the post-ISIL era to return the social unity for the Iraqi society.”

Hakim also stressed the necessity of the Iraqi society for a real national reconciliation but the reconciliation should not be with those who committed crimes against Iraqis.

“Both sides also agreed that Iraq should be open on all countries to guarantee Iraq’s interests,” the statement added. /End/
