ISIS used chlorine gas as chemical weapon in Iraq, claims Kurdistan
(IraqiNews.com) Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government revealed on Saturday, that the ISIS organization used chlorine gas as a weapon against the Peshmerga forces in Iraq.
The Security Council of the region said in a statement reported by Reuters and followed by IraqiNews.com, “The analysis of soil and cloth samples of a suicide car bombing carried out by ISIS militants in January in northern Iraq showed that the samples contained levels of chlorine, which refers to the use of this material in a weaponized form.”
The Council added, “The analysis was conducted in a European Union-certified laboratory after the Kurdistan government sent soil samples to a partner country in the coalition led by the United States.”
