MoI, British Envoy discuss security updates in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Minister of Interior Mohammed Salim al-Ghaban received in his office in Baghdad the British Military Envoy to Iraq Simon Hill for the occasion of concluding his mission in Iraq accompanied by the new British Military envoy Tom Becket.

Statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “Ghaban and his guests discussed the security updates on the Iraqi arena where Minister Ghaban stressed that the International Coalition should consider support given for Iraq as a priority at this stage in order to expel the terrorist ISIL organization from occupied lands and secure these areas to return displaced families to their homes.”

“Ghaban also explained for the British guests the efforts exerted by the local and federal police elements to secure the liberated areas from the terrorist ISIL and the intention of the ministry to depend on the local citizens to secure their areas,” the statement added.

For their part, the British envoys highlighted the victories achieved by the Iraqi Security Forces and promised to continue working with Iraq till liberating all occupied areas. /End/
