Warren denies request from Iraq to US led coalition to support ISF in Tikrit

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren denied any request from the Iraqi government to the US led coalition to conduct airstrikes to support the operations of the Iraqi Forces to retake Tikrit.

Warren stated that “we haven’t been asked by the Iraqi government to conduct airstrikes Tikrit”, adding that ” We don’t conduct any strikes without the request and agreement of the government of Iraq or the Kurdistan Regional Government” referring that ”the Iraqi Forces have encircled Tikrit but haven’t advanced to control it yet”. /End/
