Hakim from Jordan: We refuse dividing Iraq

Follow Up (IraqiNews.com) Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council warned of shattering and fragmenting Iraq and its reflection on the region.

A statement by the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, received by IraqiNews.com cited that ”In a speech delivered in Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah College of International Studies on Monday, Hakim emphasized that the division of Iraq is unacceptable”, warning of “falling of the region if Iraq falls.”

Hakim showed that ”The extremist ideology is not only in need of security treated but also social, economic, developmental and intellectually service ones”, adding that ” the dialogue and the acceptance of each other are the best ways to coexist”, noting that “the core of the Islamic religion is to live together and forgive but what we have seen of the brutal actions by the terrorists of the ISIL has no relation to the Islamic religion and does not reflect the real picture of it” considering “sectarianism is a big problem on the communities and we should not be extremists because of our pride of our religion”. /End/
