Photos: ISIS executes 11 Shia militia volunteers in Iraq
(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday ISIS executed 11 al-Hashd al-Sha’bi militia fighters in Salahuddin province according to photos circulated by websites concerned with extremist news.
The photos were published under the title “Implementing Allah’s rule against 11 volunteer fighters” in reference to al-Hashd al-Sha’bi militia, a volunteer Shia security force which has fought alongside government security forces to retake areas seized by ISIS in June last year.
The first photo shows masked ISIS terrorists dressed in black uniforms carrying machine guns and escorting detainees dressed in orange with their hands tied behind their backs.
The photos show the 11 detainees on their knees while one of the photos shows the prisoners lying on the ground with blood on their heads.
Iraqi authorities have collaborated with al-Hashd al-Sha’bi militia fighters after the collapse of a number of its security sectors in June, which allowed ISIS to rapidly seize and control large areas in the north and west of Iraq.
