 Iraqi forces kill 50 ISIS fighters in clashes east of Tikrit, says Interior Ministry

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Saturday, Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, that 50 ISIS elements have been killed in violent clashes with the federal police forces in north of Tikrit.

The Interior Ministry spokesman, Maj. Gen. Saad Moen, stated in an interview for IraqiNews.com “The federal police conducted a massive attack against ISIS militants in the Hamrin Mountains area and managed to kill 50 ISIS elements in the fields of Alas and Ajil in east of Tikrit.”

He also added, “The federal police forces have also managed to kill a suicide element that attempted to detonate a bomb targeting the police ranks on the road that leads to Baiji’s refinery.”
