 Shia paramilitary force detains ISIS Mufti in Yusifiyah in southern Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Tuesday the Martyr Sadr’s 1st Battalion announced, that elements of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia have managed to detain the ISIS legitimate Mufti in the area of al-Yusifiyah located in southern Baghdad.

The Martyr Sadr Forces said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today, our forces within al-Hashed al-Sha’bi Militia were able to detain the legitimate Mufti of ISIS, the so-called Mahmoud al-Qarghouli, in the area of al-Yusifiyah located in southern Baghdad.”

Noteworthy, Sadr militia is considered to be one of the most important divisions of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi. The militia continues to carry out tactical operations in a number of the Iraqi provinces.
