24 Iraqi tourists killed in a terrible accident in Iran
(IraqiNews.com) 24 Iraqis were killed and 16 others wounded on Tuesday in a traffic accident north of Iran, according to Iranian state television.
The victims of the accident were passengers on a bus, which was carrying 25 women, five men and ten children, all of them were Iraqis.
A local emergency official said, “The bus was heading apparently from Tehran to the Caspian Sea through the Alborz mountains; it veered off the road and plunged into a valley.”
The injured were transported to hospital in the nearby town of Chalus, the official added.
The accident happened during heavy traffic as Iranians took to the roads ahead of a three-day national holiday.
