(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – The Shia paramilitary al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces announced on Friday the killing of a key Chechen ISIS leader during clashes in north of Tikrit.

Karim al-Nouri, an official of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia, stated for IraqiNews.com, “The security forces backed by al-Hashed al-Sha’bi were able to kill the key ISIS leader, known as Abu Shamel al-Shishani, during the ongoing clashes in the district of Baiji,” pointing out that, “Most of the components that form the ISIS leadership in Baiji are from Chechnya.”

Al-Nouri added, “The forces of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi have begun liberating the nighborhood of al-Ta’mim in the district of Baiji,” noting that, “The issue of Baiji has been resolved.”
