The United Nations suspends its health programs in Iraq
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The United Nations announced on Tuesday the suspension of the health programs, which were benefiting millions of people in Iraq, because of a lack of funds, warning of the risk of measles epidemic and the return of polio due to lack of protection of more than half a million children.
The United Nations statement said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com: “184 health service has been suspended due to a lack of allocated funds for humanitarian activities,” indicating that, “more than 80% of health programs supported by the humane partners have now been suspended.”
The organization noted that, “This suspension harms a million people and millions of others indirectly.”
