(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A member of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Information, MP Fadel al-Kanani, announced on Monday the approval of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on the closure of newspapers, magazines and channels of government institutions.

Kinani said in an interview with for IraqiNews.com, “Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi agreed to a proposal on the closure of newspapers, magazines and TV channels of the governmental institutions,” noting that, “publishing news of the ministries will be across the Iraqi Media Network for being an Iraqi state institution.”

Kanani added that “this decision save the state budget and ministries’ money that was spent on publications and TV channels.”
