(IraqiNews.com) The president of Haditha Provincial Council in Anbar province, Khaled Salman, announced on Monday, that the lake of Haditha is running out of water, calling the federal government to speed up the negotiations with the Turkish side to release the water.

Khaled Salman, head of the provincial council, stated in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “There are fears for Haditha Dam (160 km west of Ramadi) because the lake is completely running out of water and the hydropower station will stop working,” calling the government “to speed up the negotiations with the Turkish side for the purpose of increasing the releases of water.”

Salman also warned that, “In the case of any delay to release the water from the Turkish side; Technical problems will occur in the hydroelectric station before it sinks.”
