Anbar Operations commander injured in mortar shell fall east of Ramadi
(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – According to a security source in Anbar province, the commander of Anbar Operations Maj. Gen. Qassim Al-Muhammadi was injured in the fall of mortar shells east of the city of Ramadi.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Anbar operations commander Maj. Gen. Qassim Al-Muhammadi was injured after being hit by a mortar shell targeted him during the operation of the security units at Abu Ghitha area east of Ramadi.”
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “Mohammadi was transferred to a hospital in Baghdad for treatment.”
It is noteworthy that al-Hashed al-Shaabi backed by tribal fighters, Army Aviation, Air Force and the Iraqi security forces carry out daily assaults and air strikes targeting ISIS strongholds in Anbar province and other areas.
