ISIS blows up mosque, removes historical inscriptions of 2 churches in Mosul
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – According to a local source in Nineveh province, ISIS bombed on Saturday a mosque south of the province, while also removed historical inscriptions from the front of two churches in central Mosul.
The source said in an interview for Iraqinews.com, “ISIS elements booby-trapped Abu Bakr mosque in Shura district (35 km south of Nineveh), by improvised explosive devices and blew it up under the pretext of the existence of a tomb inside the mosque.”
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “elements of the organization also had removed historical and heritage inscriptions from the front of Virgin Mary church and the Chaldean church in the Doctors Street in central Mosul.”
