US forces free about 70 hostages in northern Iraq, says US official

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – According to the channel “CNN”, US Special Forces managed to free 70 hostages in northern Iraq, pointing out to the killing of an American during the operation.
The channel quoted US official as saying that “US special forces carried out a military operation to rescue Kurdish hostages in northern Iraq,” pointing out that those forces “have freed about 70 Kurdish hostages.”
“An American was killed during the operation. He is considered as the first American to be killed on the ground during the fighting operations against ISIS in Iraq and Syria,” the report added.
