 Bahrain follows Saudi Arabia, cuts diplomatic relations with Iran

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad- On Monday, Bahraini government has announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Iran, while called the Iranian diplomatic mission to leave the kingdom within 48 hours.

The Bahraini Minister of Information Issa bin Abdulrahman al-Hammadi said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The government of Bahrain has decided to cut the diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” pointing out that, “The government also called all the members of the Iranian diplomatic mission to leave the Kingdom within 48 hours.”

Noteworthy, Bahrain is the second Gulf country after the Saudi Arabia to cut diplomatic relations with Iran, after the events followed the execution of the cleric Nimr al-Nimr.
