Security forces evacuate 60 families besieged by ISIS east of Ramadi
(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – A security source in Anbar province said on Wednesday, that a force from the Anti-Terrorism Directorate had evacuated more than 60 families that were besieged by ISIS east of Ramadi.
The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “A force from the Anti-Terrorism and Anbar police had managed to evacuate more than 60 families, most of whom were women and children, from the area of al-Sufiyah east of Ramadi.”
The source added, “Those families were besieged by ISIS as hostages in the area,” asserting that, “The siege was lifted, and they were transferred to al-Habbaniyah camp in the city of al-Khalediya.”
