 ISIS dominates new areas near Deir ez-Zor Province in eastern Syria

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, Opposition activists said, that ISIS fighters took control of new areas near Deir ez-Zor Province in eastern Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement, “ISIS militants took control of the northern areas of the city, including an army base and a weapons depot in Ayyash village west of Deir ez-Zor province.”

The Syrian government announced on Sunday, that ISIS militants killed 300 people in Deir ez-Zor during the past two days.

Noteworthy, ISIS has controlled most of Deir ez-Zor areas, while the government managed to control dozens of areas in the northern part of the city, in addition to the military airport.
