 Salahuddin Council to establish displaced persons camp in southern Tikrit

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – Salahuddin Council announced on Monday setting up a camp to accommodate the displaced families due to military operations in Samarra Island south of the province, while pointed out that the camp will include 200 tents.

Associate Administrator of the governor of Salahuddin, Muhammad Koga, said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “An emergency meeting was held today to discuss the procedures to shelter the displaced citizens due to the military operations which started a week ago to expel ISIS from Samarra Island.”

Koga added, “It was agreed to set up a camp for displaced persons that will include 250 tents in the southern part of Tikrit as a first step to bring the number of tents in the coming days to more than a thousand tents.”
