(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A security source in Kirkuk province announced on Thursday the killing of one of the ISIS prominent leaders during an aerial bombing by the international coalition southwest of the province.

The source, who requested anonymity, said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The international coalition aviation bombarded, this evening, the house of one of the ISIS elements in the village of al-Mazhuriyah in the district of al-Hawija (55 km southwest of Kirkuk), resulting in the death of one of the ISIS leaders, known as Abu Azzam al-Afri,” pointing out that, “Afri is considered to be from the leaders of the front row and close to the leader of ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.”

The source added, “Targeting Afri came after receiving intelligence about his whereabouts.”
