(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The Civil Defense Directorate announced on Tuesday, that a civilian was injured as a result of a fire in three oil tanks placed near houses south of the province.

Qais Abdul-Razak, a spokesman for the Civil Defense Directorate, said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a fire broke out in three oil tanks placed near houses in Wasti neighborhood south of Kirkuk,” noting that, “Ten vehicles belonging to the directorate have controlled the fire, which resulted in wounding a civilian and damaging five houses.”

Abdul-Razak also added, “The Civil Defense and Police formed a committee to investigate the reasons behind the incident,” pointing out that, “The rapid response of the Civil Defense Team prevented the fire expansion in the neighboring houses.”
