Defense Ministry announces killing “ISIS Mufti” in air raid south of Mosul
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Media officials with the Ministry of Defense announced on Monday the killing of the so-called ISIS Mufti in an aerial bombing south of Mosul.
The officials said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “An air strike by the international coalition in the village of Haj-Ali near the Tigris River resulted in killing the leader named Rajah Haji Sherida who serves as the legitimate mufti of ISIS, in addition to [killing] the terrorists Amir Fathi Osman and chit Mahmoud.”
The statement added, “The international coalition warplanes also conducted an air strike on a checkpoint belonging to the ISIS gangs in the village of Sidawa located in Makhmour south of Mosul,” noting that, “The strike resulted in the destruction of the post.”
