We will supply weapons to Iraqi army for countering ISIS, says Hollande
(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – France will supply weapons to Iraq forces and extend its support to the latter in its fight against ISIS. This was said on Friday by French President Francois Hollande, but ruled out any troop deployment in the country.
Speaking to the at a press conference Hollande said, “Nice attack revealed that the security threats are very high. We have recalled 15000 reservists to protect the tourist sites and others.”
“We will act firmly and mercilessly to confront terrorism. War against terror continues in Syria and Iraq,” Hollande added.
It may be mentioned here that Hollande has assured of sending the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to the region at the end of September.
