Islamic State controls nearly 18,000 m² in Syria

Damascus (Syria News) Local sources informed, on Saturday, that the Islamic State group captured around 18,000 m² of the Syrian territory, in the provinces of Deir Ezzor, Homs, Hama, Daraa and Damascus, Qasioun News reported.
The area of the ISIS territory 2017 in Deir Ezzor are estimated by 15,000 m², including the neighborhoods located inside the city and on the Khabour River.
Moreover, the Islamic State militants seized over 2,000 m² in the desert of Homs, beginning from the city of Sukhna till the managerial borders of Deir Ezzor Province.
Meanwhile, the radical group captured some areas in western Daraa, including 250 m² in Yarmouk basin, in addition to seizing al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, in southern Damascus and few recently-held lands, in the eastern countryside of Hama.
It is noteworthy that the Islamic State has recently lost large areas of land, after several air strike carried out by the US-Led coalition and Russian warplanes, in addition to extensive operations by both Syrian regime and Syrian Democratic Forces militia.
