Three people, including security personnel, injured in two bomb blasts in Baghdad
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Three people including a security personnel, were injured in two bomb blasts, south of Baghdad, security sources said on Friday.
Speaking to AlSumaria News, the source said, “a bomb, placed on the side of the road in al-Obeid region in al-Mahmoudiya, south of Baghdad, went off as a military patrol was passing. One of the vehicles was destroyed and a soldier was wounded.”
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said, “security forces cordoned off the blast scene and transferred the wounded to hospital for treatment.”
Moreover, two civilians were injured in a bomb blast, southwest of Baghdad, a security source said.
“A bomb went off on the side of the road in al-Shurta al-Raba’a region, southwest of Baghdad, leaving two civilians injured,” the source told Almaalomah website.
The wounded, according to the source, “were taken to hospital for treatment, while investigations were conducted.”
A total of 79 Iraqi civilians were killed and another 99 injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in July 2018, according to casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
Baghdad was the worst affected Governorate, with 63 civilian casualties (30 killed, 33 injured), followed by Kirkuk (8 killed, 34 injured) and Nineveh (13 killed and 05 injured).
