Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraq Stock Exchange held on Tuesday the last trading session in 2022 on shares of Iraqi joint-stock companies, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The statement clarified that the most important indicators during 2022 are the organization of 236 trading sessions on shares of listed joint-stock companies.

The statement elaborated that the number of companies registered with Iraq Stock Exchange reached 103 joint-stock companies.

The registered joint-stock companies are divided into 43 companies in the banking sector, two companies in the telecommunications sector, five companies in the insurance sector, six companies in the financial investment sector, 11 companies in the service sector, 21 companies in the industrial sector, nine companies in the hotels and tourism sector and six companies in the agricultural sector.

The statement indicated that the number of companies whose shares were traded are 92 companies, including 36 in the banking sector, two telecommunications companies, five insurance companies, four financial investment companies, 10 service companies, 20 industrial companies, nine companies in the hotel and tourism sector, and six agricultural companies.

The statement noted that the number of traded shares were 564 billion shares, while the value of traded shares reached 521 billion Iraqi dinars (356.8 million USD).

The statement also mentioned that the index of stock prices traded in December 2022 closed at 585.9 points, representing an increase of 3.53 percent.

The first trading session in 2023 will be held on Monday, January 2, the statement added.
