Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi parliamentary delegation, headed by First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, agreed on Monday with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mustafa Sentop, to form a joint committee to solve the outstanding water issues and the repeated attacks, according to a statement issued by the press office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

The statement explained that the Iraqi parliamentary delegation met Sentop and other Turkish officials on the sidelines of the delegation’s participation in the 13th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in the Turkish city of Antalya.

During their meeting, both sides discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey, the outstanding issues especially Iraq’s water share, and the repeated attacks on the Iraqi borders, the statement mentioned.

The Iraqi and Turkish officials agreed to form a joint committee to address these issues, and to enhance cooperation in all fields, to achieve the interests of the two countries in accordance with the principle of mutual respect, the statement added.
