Ministry of Construction completes Arar-Anazah road project

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Arar-Anazah road project was constructed by the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities through Ashur General Company for Construction Contracting. The project was under the direction of the Ministry’s Roads and Bridges Directorate in response to provide better roads and services for the Border Guard Forces Command.

Due to its crucial function in safeguarding the border strip with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, notably in the Arar-Anazah region, the project, which has a length of 29 km, a width of 6.3 m, and a cost of 23 billion Iraqi dinars ($15 million), is regarded as one of the strategic locations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

The joint Arar border crossing between Saudi Arabia and Iraq has been reopened in an effort to boost commerce and the economies of both nations.
