73 hospitals to be inaugurated by the end of 2024
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, confirmed on Sunday that 73 hospitals will be inaugurated by the end of 2024, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement illustrated that Tamim met with the UNICEF representative in Iraq, Sandra Lattouf, and her accompanying delegation, where they discussed joint cooperation in terms of the social security system, supporting the efforts of the Iraqi government, and improving the quality of education, health, and children’s rights.
The Planning Minister called on the United Nations organizations to redevelop cooperation strategies in accordance with the Iraqi government’s priorities.
Tamim indicated that the government supports water and sanitation projects, hospitals and social security programs, adding that 73 hospitals will be inaugurated by the end of 2024.
The Iraqi minister added that the government signed a contract to build another 15 hospitals and solved problems that hindered the implementation of 24 sanitation projects.
Tamim added that the government took important steps to complete the electrical interconnection project with Jordan, Egypt and the Gulf states.
