Corruption behind foot-dragging in implementing projects, stresses MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Abdul Hussein Resan stressed that the majority of the Ministries’ projects suffer from foot-dragging, attributing this tarry to the financial and administrative corruption in all the state institutions.

Resan told IraqiNews.com that “The local governments floundered in assuming its tasks concerning spending the budget of the regions development project where all the provinces presented dissimilar implementation rates for projects, and there are only few projects have been implemented in each province.”

“Most of the projects were ill-considered, thus their economic feasibility was not matched with the feasibility of the projects presented by the provincial councils due to the corruption and lack of a strategic plan to be followed by all the Ministries to avoid inconsistency in implementing projects,” he concluded.
