Salah al-Din blast kills woman, wounds child

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A woman was killed and her girl child wounded in a blast in front of their house north of Tikrit city on Saturday, according to a local police source. “An improvised explosive device (IED), planted by unknown persons in front of a policeman’s house in Abtha village in central al-Shurqat town, 100 km north of Tikrit, went off on Saturday, killing his wife and wounding his eight-year-old girl,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He added that the policeman was at his work during the attack. Tikrit, the capital city of Salah al-Din province, is 175 km north of Baghdad. SKH (P)/AmR 32
