12 sewage plants rehabilitated in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Local companies on Wednesday finalized the project of rehabilitating 12 sewage plants throughout Basra, with a total cost of around $3.5 million, said the spokesperson of the committee to support Basra rebuilding. “The rehabilitation works included installing Swedish made submersible pumps, diesel generators and power transformers,” Rasheed al-Fahad told IraqiNews.com news agency. The committee is assigned to spend $100 million to rebuild the southern province. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SH 1
