120 thousand donums for summer agricultural schedule in Wasit

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Wassit agricultural sources announced that 120.000 donums shall be implanted according to summer schedule of 2011. En. Faiz Jawad told IraqiNews.com that the province has agriculturally useful land of 2.662 million donums according to this summer schedule. The agricultural areas shall use Euphrates and Tigris rivers. The expected agricultural areas in the province will reach to 2.662 million donums, with semi-agricultural lands of 1.51 million donums and non-agricultural lands of 3.94 million donums. The suitable agricultural lands reached to 4.81 million donums. Wassit province got the first grade in producing wheat and barley. Kut, the center of Wassit province, lies 180 km south east of the capital, Baghdad. 552
