17 percent for Kurdistan in 2009 budget – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The head of the Iraqi Parliament’s financial committee said that Kurdistan’s share of the 2009 federal budget will be 17 percent, but will be linked to the results of a census in the region. “Iraq’s 2009 federal budget will be $67 billion, and Kurdistan will get 17 percent of it,” lawmaker Ayad al-Samaraee told IraqiNews.com. “This share is linked to the results of a census that will be conducted in Kurdistan in 2009, and the share will be amended accordingly,” he said.
