2 housing compounds set up in Thi-Qar at $730m
THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: The investment commission in Thi-Qar province has granted building permits to non-Iraqi companies to construct two housing compounds at a cost of nearly $730 million U.S. dollars. “The first permit will be granted to the Lebanese al-Murad Company, which will build a housing compound comprising 5,000 units on an area of 320 donums (1 donum= 2,500 square meters) near al-Iskan al-Sinaie area,” the head of the investment commission, Ismail al-Abboudi, told Iraqi News. “The second compound will be set up by the Baz Group and its Russian partners at the northern entrance of the city,” Abboudi noted, adding that it will cost nearly $230 million.
