5 sewage projects in Wassit
Wassit-Sewage WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The sewage department in Wassit has completed five sewage projects at a total cost of 1.814 billion Iraqi dinars within projects to develop provinces in 2008, a media source said on Tuesday. “The projects envisage setting up rain water network, the sewage water, implementing pumping water stations between Badra, al-Suwaira, Sheikh Saad and Kut regions,” Thamer al-Taei told IraqiNews.com. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. Its major cities include the capital, al-Kut, and al-Hayy. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province. SH (P)/SR 1
