75% of Sadr City power networks upgrading finalized

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The electricity ministry is still upgrading power networks in the eastern Baghdad district of Sadr City, a ministry spokesman said on Thursday. “The ministry is about to finalize civil works in preparation for installing al-Hamidiya power station in the city with a capacity of 300 megawatt,” Aziz Sultan told IraqiNews.com, adding 75 percent of these works have been already finalized. “Iran’s Sanir, which has a concession from Germany’s Siemens, will undertake the installation of this station over one and a half years,” Sultan added.
