Cabinet endorses 2009 budget

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi cabinet endorsed in its ordinary session on Tuesday the country’s federal budget for the year 2009, which hits 79 trillion Iraqi dinars (ID), the Iraqi government’s official spokesman said. “The 79-trillion-dinar state budget for 2009 (one dollar equals 1,118 dinars) and its draft law will be referred to parliament after the cabinet’s endorsement today,” Ali al-Dabbagh told IraqiNews.com. “The sum of 62 trillion dinars will be channeled as an operational budget while 17 trillion will be as an investment budget,” Dabbagh said.
