Economic conference concludes in London

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An economic cooperation promotion conference on Tuesday concluded in London with dozens of international investment companies competing to enter into deals with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, an official spokesperson said. “During the conference, held on Monday and Tuesday, meetings took place with representatives of companies to inform them about oil fields that are in need of development,” Aasem Jihad told IraqiNews.com. A workshop will be held in February 2009 to review all technical details of the contract, Jihad noted. A deadline until April 2009 will be given to companies to study all information, after which negotiations will end and the names of winners will be announced, Jihad added. SS (P)/SR 1
