Finance ministry urges expenditure cuts

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of finance, Baqir Jabr al-Zubeidi, on Sunday called on ministries and state departments to reduce their expenditure in an attempt to overcome considerable problems due to the fall in international oil prices. “Minister Baqir Jabr called on ministries and provinces to shoulder national responsibility for cutting expenditure in light of the drop in oil prices in international markets,” according to a ministerial statement received by IraqiNews.com.
