France seeks to invest in Wassit

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: French consul in Thi-Qar on Wednesday expressed his country’s desire to invest in Wassit, according to media director of the Wassit council. “French Consul in Thi-Qar, Aadel al-Kenzawi, paid a visit to the council’s building today with a French company, where he met with Governor Latief Hamad al-Tarfa,” Majed al-Attabi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The consul underlined his country’s desire to invest in the province, mainly in bridges and tunnels sectors,” he added. “The French consul said that his visit comes within the strategic cooperation agreement signed between President Nicolas Sarkozy and his Iraqi counterpart Jalal Talabani to transfer technology to Iraq,” he explained. Kut, the capital of Wassit, is 180 km southeast of Baghdad.  SH (TP)/SR  834
