Iraq’s central, southern provinces to witness establishment of free zones
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The General Bureau of Free Zones associated to the Ministry of Finance announced that Iraq’s central and southern provinces will witness establishing private free zone to activate and revitalize the commercial and investment movement in those provinces.
A statement by the Bureau quoted its Director General, Sabah Salih al-Qaisi, as saying “Provinces of Babel, Diyala, Salah il-Din, Najaf, Wassit, and Muthanna presented requests to the Bureau calling for setting up free zones to attract the investors from different countries.”
“The establishment of free zones is a successful means to attract investment to Iraq as it exempts the investors from the customs and taxes duties as well as the Bureau has large tracts that encourage the investment,” Qaisi added.
