Iraq to activate flights to Manchester
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Airways will operate flights from Baghdad and Basra to the city of Manchester starting next Saturday, a statement by the transport ministry said Sunday.
“Iraqi Airways will open a flight line from Baghdad and Basra to the English city of Manchester on 10th of December, one flight per week from both airports,” Minister Kazim Finjan al-Hamami said in a statement, highlighting what he described as the “touristic and economic importance of that flight line”. He said his ministry is working on opening other flight lines to various world destinations.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Airways general manager, Samer Kubba, said discounts on flight tickets yielded a high turnout from travelers eager to visit holy and tourist sites in Iraq.
Iraqi Airways currently holds a fleet of 32 planes.
