Iraqi exports nearly 100 million oil barrels in December
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced, that the Iraq State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) has exported 99 million and 700 thousand barrels of the total of 128 million barrel produced in central and southern oil fields through the ports of Basra in December 2015, while showed that the revenue is amounted to two billion and 920 million dollars. The ministry also asserted it was not able to export through the northern port to the Turkish port of Ceyhan due to the lack of commitment of the Kurdistan region.
The ministry’s Spokesman Assem Jihad said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The SOMO exported 99 million and 700 thousand barrels of oil from the southern ports in December 2015, with an average price of $29 and 288 cents per barrel,” noting that, “The total revenue was amounted to two billion and 920 million dollars.”
Jihad added, “This month, daily production rate reached four million and 130 thousand barrels,” pointing out that, “The total quantities produced from the central and southern oil fields during that period were amounted to more than 128 million barrels.”
