Iraqi finance minister discusses ties with Lebanese counterpart

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Finance Minister Baqir al-Zubeidi met with his Lebanese counterpart, Mohammed Chattah, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank to discuss means of boosting mutual ties between the two countries. “The meeting, held in the Turkish city of Istanbul, was attended by the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), Dr. Sanan al-Shabibi; an advisor to the finance minister, Dr. Aziz Jaafar; and a CBI advisor, Madhhar Mohammed Saleh,” according to a statement published on the web site of the Finance Ministry. Zubeidi has stressed his government’s approach to inviting the Lebanese private sector to enter the Iraqi markets, according to the statement. SS (P)/SR 2
